Sew Liberated Metamorphic Dress
Buy the Metamorphic Dress sewing pattern from Sew Liberated. The Metamorphic Dress is a wardrobe-building dress for all seasons. Featuring a high/low waist seam and complete reversibility, it's inspired by the possibility of layers - wear it with the tiered skirt and patch pockets, or flip it inside out and enjoy a basic, single-layer pinafore with in-seam pockets. Layer it over jeans, leggings, or a mid-length Stasia Dress, or layer it under your favourite woven tee or knitted cardigan. Wear it on the beach over your swimsuit or a short-sleeve, fitted knit tee. The fit is easy, with no bodice darts and plenty of room for the waist. It is drafted for a D cup and below.
This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?
– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?
Suggested fabrics: Choose a fabric with a nice drape, such as sandwashed rayon or silk noil. For a more structured dress you can use cotton ikat or linen. It is important to choose fabric, at least for the under layer, that is reversible. The wrong side of the fabric will show as the longer layer of the skirt when the dress is worn with the layered side out.
Fabric requirements: 44" (115 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/2 yd (2.3 m) for the top layer + 2 5/8 yd (2.4 m) for the under layer // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/8 yd (1.9 m) for the top layer + 2 1/4 yd (2 m) for the under layer.
Sizing: US 0 - 24 (approx. UK 6/8 - 22/24). Please check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.
