Buy the Tunic sewing pattern from The Avid Seamstress. Say hello to your new favourite summer garment! The Tunic features an elegant V-neck with a facing for a polished finish. Optional buttonholes hold a waist tie for a cinched dress, or when left untied with no buttonholes, the Tunic is a floaty and chic beach cover-up. There are also two length options.Â

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:
– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?
– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?
Suggested fabrics: Light drapey fabrics such as viscose are perfect for the Tunic.
The Tunic can also be made in cotton, cotton lawn, linen, poplin or any soft non-stretch woven fabric.
When worn, you will see the wrong side of the fabric at the side seams, so pick a fabric you don't mind a flash of the wrong side being seen.

Shorter version: 112 cm wide fabric (sizes 6-18): 2 - 2.2 m // 114 cm wide fabric (sizes 20-26): 2.25 m // 145 cm wide fabric: 2 - 2.25 m.
Longer version: 112 cm wide fabric (sizes 6-18): 2.3 - 2.5 m // 114 cm wide fabric (sizes 20-26): 2.6 m // 145 cm wide fabric: 2.3 - 2.6 m.
Sizing: UK 6 – 26 (approx. UK 6/8 – 28, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: 50 cm of lightweight iron-on interfacing.
